I will say it again, that I think such an event only serves to turn more
people off. If mothers want to breastfeed, it is our job (ethically,
morally and in every other way) to support them and help them over the
rough spots.As a professional, it is NOT my job to be involvibng myself in
something that I think in the long run will potentially set breastfeeding
back instead of moving the movement forward.I worked long and hard to
attain my IBCLC and I am a medical professional as well. I refuse to make
us look like a bunch of radicals when we can do our work quietly and
professionally and probably do far more for this very important cause. Our
job is to advocate for the health benefits of breastfeeding as well as
support mothers through the process. I do not think picketing a Victoria's
Secret is the way to get the point across.
