For more information on this see the Breastfeeding Atlas.  I don't  know the 
pages in the new book, don't have that one 'yet'. But, there is a  section on 
abscesses and it does say they can be there without fever.  Also  gives 
treatments.
 
Can I say I love that book?   I hear the new one is even  better...and I will 
get that one too..no financial interest, but I carry a copy  in my bag for 
home visits and a cd in my desk.  Nothing says 'oh, that's  me' like a great 
picture!  When I open the book and show a mom...see, this  is what I see...and 
she knows she is not alone...makes such a difference.
