Hi All,
I'm working with a mom who has a 4 week old infant who was admitted to the
hospital yesterday, for grossly bloody stools. Around the time the stools
appeared mom started c/o "pain in my milk channels", baby also had visible
thrush at that time - this was last week. Mom began course of fluconazole
on Sat. On admission baby placed on formula and mom instructed to remove
cow's milk from diet, with intention of restarting breastfeeding when milk
proteins clear. Dad with hx Celiac disease.

Any ideas? Anyone seen bloody stools triggered by yeast in a susceptible
infant. Could there be a connection to the Celiac - the GI says no, that
he would expect darker blood if it were from Celiac. Any help with the
detective work would be appreciated! Have looked at the archives and there
are some interesting ideas there, looking for anything new or that makes
the direct connection.

TIA
