Jesi,

I don't have a source with me as I'm at home and someone else will
probably get it for you before I'm back at work Tuesday. But may I
just suggest that for your friend's articles for World Breastfeeding
Week she word it differently than "medically able to breastfeed"? The
idea of breastfeeding being a medical condition, either medically
healthy or not, is not the best one in terms of the concept that was
discussed recently of a breastfeeding friendly culture. If this were
a breastfeeding friendly culture we would assume everyone was able to
breastfeed. It would be a very rare mother who might not be able to
breastfeed and she would then be taken to a specialist, whether a
lactation consultant or physician or both. But healthy women would
just be thought of as normal, not medically able to breastfeed.
