From one who may, on a good day, have more than 60% of babies getting
colostrum from a spoon, I am just waiting for someone to say something
to me about it not being evidence-based. I will ask them for evidence
for the safety of feeding newborn infants from bottles with unusually
fast flowing nipples ( compliments of artificial milk companies.)
I will cite all of the articles that show that babies lower oxygen
saturation and body temperature while drinking from bottles,

um
IN fact , the more you search, you will find the dangers of bottle
feeding very small infants.
Bottle-fed babies tend to overeat, which may lead to obesity later in
life.

I always have my belly balls ready to show and I will then ask for
evidence that spoon feeding is dangerous. I will continue until you can
prove to me that it is dangerous.
I would definitely not recommend feeding artificial milk from a spoon as
aspiration of artificial milk is dangerous.
I think that there are references for spoon feeding in the Breastfeeding
Atlas, the Breastfeeding Answer Book, among others.
If anyone wants to do a multi-centered trial on spoon feeding, let me
know.
