I totally agree there is no excuse for doctors not to buy Hale, if they
are aware of it's existence, but I honestly think a lot of them are
completely clueless about breastfeeding and the book, and therefore do
what they think is the safe thing, and advise pumping and dumping or
weaning. I personally in my position have greater access to BFing moms,
than MD's and am forced to educate the mom's first, in prenatal classes
and as clients, and hope that they and their babies can then educate the
MD's. A backwards process, but the only way I can go at it.
