I wish I had the resources to get a copy of Hale into all MD's offices.
What a wonderful opportunity. I'm stuck trying to tackle it on a case by
case basis. When I had a woman who was told by her GI to pump and dump for
24 hours following a colonoscopy, I photocopied Hale's title page, his
category page, and the relevant information on the specific meds. I also
went to his website and photocopied all the GI meds I could find, because
they are grouped in categories there. I had the woman bring this to her
GI, who revised his opinion on her case and hopefully on those to follow.
My client felt very empowered and felt that she had potentially made a
difference for the women following her, and I felt good too! But it sure
would be great if they all just had a copy of Hale.
