Hi again
Thanks to everyone who responded with great experiences. I was feeling
quite overwhelmed about the situation last night as I feel Im the parents
only hope and the only person who is encouraging them to keep going.
Mary Kay...Why I said "theorectically" is because this baby is now 5
weeks old and it has been so traumatic , coupled with the Mum having MS ,
severe blood loss at birth, again severe blood loss at 4 weeks resulting
in an emergency hysterectomy - it just seems to me that it may take divine
intervention ! We could have done with it before now....I know its
possible and really hope we get there in the end.
On a good note the baby is now latching so we are going to introduce the
SNS if I get permission to enter the NICU ( they are thinking about it, I
used to work there so they know me) There is no lactation support in the
NICU or SCBU so as you can all imagine the majority of staff think its mad-
why not bottle feed the ebm they said- we have a long way to go but I'll
do my best to educate them on the way! .
