Dear Friends:
Fenugreek has an anti-coagulant property. I did a google search for

"Fenugreek health concerns" and another for 'fenugreek health risks'.

We have to remember that herbs are drugs, meaning that they are
substances ingested for a specific effect on the body or on a body process or health
condition. Using a book of herbal remedies and picking one from that book is
no different to go to the PDR and picking a drug to take. I am not a
certified herbalist, knowledgeable in this art and science. I do not have the legal
authority to prescribe.
I am concerned about mothers taking these substances without a good
assessment of their condition. I have encountered women who have called the
Hotline asking about St. John's Wort because they say they are depressed. Anemia
and thyroid malfunction are two conditions where 'depression' may be a
symptom. Taking an herb for a serious condition without some advice and support from
a knowledgeable professional is a serious thing to do.
