I attended a meeting on Avian Flu given by an MD at the State Dept.,
resposible for their policies on Pandemics, and he made an interesting
point.
Under the topic: Lessons from 20th Century Pandemics one point discussed
is that a cheif indicator of lethality was it's presence in
"Non-traditional age groups", meaning not the elderly and very young but
the healthy teens to young adult. Mothers of nursing infants? Scarry.
