In Aug 2000, there was an article in Pediatrics linking breastfeeding
and brain stem maturation in preemies. Brain stem maturation controls
breathing.

This new study is another piece in the puzzle, but so far, no one has
made the connection. Are we the only ones who see the obvious
importance of breastfeeding in preventing SIDS? Pacifiers, pillows,
prone sleeping...everything except the obvious..feeding your baby the
way nature intended for him to be fed with the milk that he is supposed
to get.
