Anne Grider asks if there is evidence for not massaging a mastitic breast, I
think vigorous massage can exacerbate mastitis. Milk leaking into surrounding
tissue would be irritating I would think.
I have seen this one reference, but I do not have the article, and it is
in russian. the title is interesting.
Klin Khir. 1980 Jan;(1):30-1. [Breast massage in the initial stages of
mastitis as 1 of the causes for a severe course of the disease] [Article in
Russian]Gadzhiev AS, Legchilo AN.PMID: 7374031
Anybody have a translation of it? It is a little old, and I have seen no more
recent reports, but it amy have some interesting information.
Thanks,
