Kangaroo care, responding to cues, and breastfeeding during the night do not
guarantee LAM, as my daughter can attest. Here is the study I have posted
before that hormone ratios at 38 weeks gestation is the determining factor.
I really do not like saddling moms with guilt when they do all the right
things and their period starts at 4-6 weeks postpartum anyway.

CONCLUSION: At 38 weeks gestation, the ratio PRL/oestradiol identified all
individual women according to the subsequent duration of their lactational
amenorrhoea, suggesting that duration of lactational amenorrhoea is
conditioned during pregnancy.
