Hi all and Happy World Breastfeeding Week
Just wanted to let you know how much my staff and others in the hospital
have enjoyed and laughed at my breast cakes and cupcakes.
The breast cake looks like it just came from one of our local plastic
surgeons (way too perfect), but the cupcakes are designed after patients of
past. Even some of the nurses laugh and say they remember that patient. I
have made cakes for each shift so none feel left out.
One of the Sisters (Catholic hospital) came up to see the cakes and someone
had eaten the nipple off the cake. When she asked what had happened I told
her the breast had been reconstructed and the nipple hadn't been tattooed
yet. She laughed and could understand related to being a breast cancer
survivor herself.
I even bought my boss a coffee cup at ILCA that has a circle around a
formula bag with a line through it saying "Ban the Bag". She laughed and
stated, "you're never going to give up that fight". She washed it and took
it to her office to use. Who knows maybe having it as a constant reminder
might help.
From my two cakes to your two cakes have a great week,
