Yikes! I have never found that cabbage trumps stimulation. Good
breastfeeding at appropriate intervals (i.e. -- when the baby is hungry) and/or pumping
always trumps the use of cabbage.
I've only found it to reduce supply when there is no stimulation as in,
"yes, I'll help you dry up." Is this because of the cabbage which actually helps
mom dry up, or because there is no stim, and the cabbage makes her feel more
comfortable?
I've had moms that are scared to use cabbage because they have been told
that "overuse" (whatever that is) leads to drying up of the milk, and since no
one seems to want to define "overuse", moms put it on for 5" at a time and
wonder why it doesn't work.
