I just would like to add - there is no need to switch to single
pumping in order to do massage and compression. A handsfree bra
(homemade from a stretchy but snug pregnancy bra or sports type bra)
allows two hands to compress and massage while double pumping. It
also allows the mother "time off" from thinking about pumping every
second while she's doing it - which can really improve let-down for
some! - and gives her her hands back to read, check email, tend to
her baby (perhaps with a little extension tubing), and so on.
