Greetings! I am a Neonatal ICU Staff Nurse and Lactation Consultant. The
Medical Center I work at has a huge Reproductive Medicine Department. I
spend much time helping mothers of multiples breastfeed. I have
fortunately never seen one of my NICU Moms unable to produce enought milk
for her multiples. There are three Lactation Consultants at my Medical
Center (myself included) that are great with the multiple mothers.
Education and clinical expertise is really the answer in making
breastfeeding a sucessful experience with these mothers. Education of our
health care professionals and others is also important and needed. I find
it wonderful that you are interested in this topic! Good Luck! Mary Sirian
Peterson
