And I can't help but be a bit suspicious of an OB/GYN who is on the
stump for epidurals, and claims to be a breastfeeding advocate. How do we
know
she is an advocate?
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Dr. Berens is on the Board of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine and a
VERY strong advocate for breastfeeding in her personal and professional life. I
have heard her speak many times, and she reviews all available literature in a
fair and evenhanded way, while at the same time promoting breastfeeding.
Automatic suspicion about someone else's integrity and motives, just because
they evaluate things differently than you would (especially if they are
physicians) is unfair.
