Hello!
I would so appreciate any great ways to deal with a horrible insurance
company that actually told a mother ( who is 3 days postpartum with a 29
weeker in the NICU) that she should sell her shoes if she needed to in
order to pay for the hospital grade pump she will need. The family has a
Mass. based insurance and they've given the insurance company the info
from the neonatologist etc but the insurance is not budging in their
refusal to cover the costs. I'm shocked and horrified and angry and
wanting to hear what strategies with insurance have worked in the past. I
could go on and on about why this precious colostrum is life giving to the
baby- we all know that. How do we fight this system? The father is ready
to call his state representative.
Thanks very much! Ginny in Mass.
