At the risk of repeating myself, I think the issue here is not
whether a mother's supply can dip so dramatically during early pg
that a previously thriving baby loses 3.3 pounds in 2 months.
The question is what eactly is going on in a family where this
happens and no one notices the half-starved looking baby that results.
Imagine: a 5 mth old thriving baby who starts being underfed to this
extent will change his behaviour in some way, perhaps by
crying/whimpering/yelling more than usual. As the starvation
progresses, he will become sleepier and of course a lot skinnier.
And no one notices?
