Oh it's so sad that people see a photo little girl nursing her doll
as pornographic...
That response epitomizes true perversion....
We tend to think of perversion as the acceptance of what is bad as
good...
But to me perversion is at its worse when what is good is seen as bad...
I read about an incident in a church were a parishioner complained to
the priest about a statue of Mary nursing the infant Jesus...
The priestly kindly tried to educate the man that the concept of
original sin implies there is also original virtue,
and he said that it is the absence of this virtue and the presence of
sin that makes one see what is truly good as something bad...
So rather than removing the *offensive statue* the priest encouraged
his *offended* parishioners to try to cultivate the virtues,
and prune the vices from their lives that made them see the nursing
mother through the lens of vice instead of the lens of virtue...
Likewise those nurses need to get their heads out of the gutter,
but IMO their candor does demonstrate what a grievous error it would
be to promote breastfeeding as sexy...
