May I respectfully ask what the medical indications are for this?

Dear Friends:
Great work Pam, in supporting the nurse and in delaying a circumcision.
At one hospital where I work, the OBs are back to doing circumcisions in
the delivery room again. Those poor boy babies: induced, cut out of their
mothers (sometimes with a vacuum assist as well), and then injured again. And
folks expect them to act normally and breastfeed?
The circumcisions for religous reasons are on the 8th day of life, which
is lovely because then the baby's clotting factors are in full effect, and
the mother and baby have had time to develop a strong breastfeeding
relationship.
