Wendy Jones and I -- co-authors of the Uk The Breastfeeding Network leaflet
on Bresatfeeding and Thrush -- have collected a ton of anecdotal info over
the years. It seems that if a mother has candida in the breast when feeding
one baby and never really gets on top of it, but 'resolves' the situation by
weaning the baby off the breast, the candida may present immediately after
the birth of a subsequent baby. We have never found any literature (the
literature on Thrush and Bf is pretty sparse altogther) on this, and it is
sad that women who wean for this reason are not told that this may be the
case.
