There is a historic reference by one Eilert Sundt, a chronicler of country
life in the 1800's here in Norway, who came across a valley in his travels
around my area of Norway where the only skin care practiced on babies up to
about 6 months, was sponge bathing in breastmilk.
I am not aware of what comments, if any, he included about the effects of
this treatment. I find it a curiosity since the women from that area give
birth in my hospital today. None of them have ever heard of it!
