My daughter exhibited blood and mucous in stools, and very frequent
stooling around 2 months of age. Long story short, we needed to eliminate
every trace of dairy and soy from my diet. It took a couple weeks of
complete elimination to stop her symptoms. Dairy and soy are the most
common allergens that can cause proctitis type reaction in infants.
Elimination diets take dedication and diligence. Even tiny amounts of the
allergen can cause reoccurance of symptoms. Being a dietitian helped me!
