The daughter of a friend of mine lives in the DC area. Her 10-month old has been diagnosed with numerous food allergies and one peds GI suggested that he might have infantile anorexia. While he has not yet had a tube placed for feeding, they attempt to feed him while he is asleep since he is extremely averse to attempts while awake. My understanding is that the baby never latched, so this mother has pumped, but is becoming weary of doing so. These are the only details I know, but my friend would greatly appreciate any and all names of feeding disorder specialists in the greater DC area. She is open to MDs, RDs, OTs, clinics...anyone who can help this mother who is at the end of her rope. Please e-mail me privately if you can help or if you know of anyone I can put this mother in touch with...they are willing to drive for assistance.
Thank you,
Rebecca DeYoung Daniels, MBA, RD, LD, IBCLC, RLC in KS
