Hi Debbie,
It is a pitty that so many people who should know better don't really know anything about breastfeeding, but are the ones that set the rules (hospital administrators, ministry people, etc)
In my corner of the world there seems to be a new regulations that prevents moms to supply milk for their premies, because it is ''not allowed to take into the hospital and feed the patient with at home prepared foods''. And most hospital hygienists see at home collected and frozen mother's milk as ''at home prepared food'', for reasons of infection to this and other patients. Ofcourse, here, too, there is no such thing as a tiny bit of evidence that at home collected and frozen mother's milk could possibly pose any danger to any patient in the hospital.
Warmly greeting,
Gonneke,
IBCLC, LLLL, MOM in misty southern Netherlands

I am dealing with an organization that is concerned about liability.
When I put this email out, my purpose was to collect research based information
that could help substantiate a change in protocol. Believe it or not, I am
on your side. Again, there was no intent to offend. Is there a copy of the
small research study you discussed? Is there a way that I may get a copy of
it?
