You are right, Jan....she had the usual sort of terrible support from
midwives and people *whose job it is* to ensure she was confident,
skilled and happy with her feeding. Instead, she was told to
supplement from early on, and a whole load of cofusing other stuff.
We have had some discussions about this on UK lists and boards.

I know....who does the mother blame for her horrible experience?
Not midwives and doctors...oh no.
She blames the 'puritans' (quote) for encouraging her to breastfeed
and 'making her feel guilty' when she stopped.
She then goes on to disparage breastfeeding and to belittle its
health importance.
I hope she sees where the 'fault' really lies and complains.
