Nikki brought up an interesting piece of information I hadn't
known--that THC would not affect the infant after being processed by the
mother's body. My BF Coalition has been trying to influence a
non-draconian response to marijuana use in our county, so that removing
the baby from the family for any marijuana use during breastfeeding will
no longer occur. I would have asked Nikki privately, but assuming many
others of you are also asked to provide opinions to Child Protective
Services on the marijuana-breastfeeding issue, I think it would be good
to have the information posted (or re-posted) here. (Did a Lactnet
archive search on bioactive or bioactivity and marijuana or THC, but got
no hits).
