I always explain to moms that the landscape that baby learned on day one 
isn' t the same on day 3, it's usually firmer and well....different. 
Reverse pressure softening, shaping the nipple are things that help here.  A 
little pumping, warm soaks, gentle hand exp.  etc. too.  Pat in SNJ
