Thank you all for bringing up the risk of death article.
It was incredibly timely. Even with all my epidemiology, I missed this one. I happily gleaned the 21%
figure from one of those emergency management policy statements from a highly reputable source,
went back to the original article, didn't process that they had used substraction for a division
problem, and inserted it into all the handouts I'm doing on how to integrate breastfeeding into child
survival interventions. I deliberately put that statistic in because of all of you who have been tracking
the propaganda in the media that third world women are being held back from economic
development because of breastfeeding and since formula never killed anyone in this country, they
should be using it so they could become more economically productive.
So, now the shocking statistic that has every person I know saying "really, I didn't know it was that
high" is even more shocking.

Who is feeling like all those years of plowing through nasty statistics up to matrix algebra which was
my final undoing was somewhat worthless if I can't spot a simple error right in front of my nose.
