Recently brought to my attention and apparently becoming popular among some
athletes, including some members of college athletic programs, such as where
my (distance runner) son attends.........
From the product website: "Muscle Milk is an "evolutionary" muscle formula
promoting efficient fat burning, lean muscle growth and fast recovery from
exercise. Metabolically favorable ingredients stimulate growth and recovery in a
similar manner to mother's milk nourishing a baby. ......is a complex ratio
of proteins, peptides and amino acids designed to replicate the amazing
benefits of mothers milk for rapid tissue growth and repair.......Milk is an
extremely complex food that delivers a broad spectrum of immune and nutrition
factors to help babies survive and grow. Milk is far more complex than once
thought, with over 100,000 different molecular substances estimated. Science
continues to gain fresh insights into milk structures."

On a related website,
_http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/protein/muscle-milk-cytosport.htm_
(http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/protein/muscle-milk-cytosport.htm) , .....an author, who cites pubmed research articles, writes a product
review stating: "Bovine colostrum is identical to that found in human
colostrum but at higher levels"
I have no financial interest in this product but am concerned about what to
tell young men interested in utilizing this product enhance muscle stamina and
post exertion muscle recuperation. My inclination is to advise they find a
safe donor and consume human milk made for humans. I even offered to relactate.
That did not go over so good, ...."culturally influenced peer pressure
against such a practice" was cited.
Smarty pants.
Maybe in years to come when it is at long last widely accepted by society
that fresh from the original container breastmilk is far superior to any
product that can be processed by a breastmilk processor, it will be not uncommon
for lactating women to be gainfully employed selling their excess milk to
ambitious athletes.
