Hi there. I had a mom see an ENT you performed a frenotomy and went a
little more and stitched with 2 sutures. He told the mom that 60% of all babies
who have a frenotomy without clipping farther back and stitching regrow the
frenotomy? I am not questioning that he did it the way he did...this baby
really could not use his tongue. I am just wondering about the research and
where I can go read more about it. He usually does not do frenotomies unless
there is a very real need, so for him to mention this made me wonder if it was
something I need to learn more about.
Thanks,
Pam MazzellaDiBosco, IBCLC, RLC
