Why don't they just use the Medela bottles? That's what we are using. These can be re-sterilized with the Steam bags and re-used, thus saving bucks for everyone. WE do this at our hospital. The parents get labels. We put used ones in a bag at baby's bedside and parents pick up, take home and wash, re-sterilize and reuse. Great for everyone's budget. The volufeeds are not resterilizable!

Subject: Breastmild storage containers
HI All,
My hospital now has to find alternate containers for breast milk storage
for our NICU moms. Meade Johnson is now concerned about how many bottles
of sterile water we are using and want to charge us for it!! Imagine
that. Medela makes a plastic bottle and Meade Johnson is now going to
designs and under cut the Medela price..to help us out I am sure. I went
to a BF conference last year in Hershey Pa and their was vendor who had
containers. I don't have a vendor list from that conference. Bags are
too messy for universal precautions and the manager doesn't want us to use
them. Any suggestions, Any vendors that you know of that sell for less
than $0.30. That is the suggested price that Meade Johnson is saying they
can do. Hate to see them make money from breast milk..any formula company
at that.
Thank you for your suggestions.
