When I had my braces, the soft wax was simply beeswax. So I'm
wondering if there might be an infinitessimal honey/botulism risk,
depending on the age of the toddler in question.

Oh, and I have to mention that last week I helped a mom with a dairy
problem, whose baby had stopped stooling, for weeks. They had done a
whole battery of invasive GI stuff before the grandfather mentioned in
my presence that the gastro said the baby was allergic to mother's milk
and must be weaned. So I handed him my card. Anyhow, as it turned
out, when mom went back to her GP with the gastro's diagnosis, the GP
told her under no circumstances might she wean this child, who was in
enough trouble already! Grandfather told my dh that his actual words
were, "Don't you dare wean this poor baby!"

Another ally :)

Lynn
