I can remember when I started teaching breastfeeding in the late 80's 
and  so much of what I was taught was wrong - feed 1 min per side day one, 
2 min per side day 2-supplement with formula at the drop of a hat, 
remember those days. And in my state of self-rightous ignorance I thought 
of LLL as a bunch of fanatics. If I had the term breast feeding Nazi, I 
don't think I would have used it, but it certainly speaks to the 
fanatacism I mistakenly believed was present. I think that in order to 
break through myth and misinformation requires stregnth and determination 
which can easily be mistaken for lunacy by the ill-informed. At least 
we're not being imprisoned or burned at the stake and I think that the 
name calling will stop when everyone perceives the truth behind the 
conviction, which will only come from constant education and pressure - 
thus leaving us open to sllegations of obsession. But it will change!
