Hello again everyone
Im looking for opinions on peoples experiences with Symphony vrs Lactina.
My client is using the Lactina and has a poor supply- she is pumping for a
30 week preterm baby now 2 weeks old producing 250mls per day- 8-10
pumpings , skin to skin regularly, fenugreek, blessed thistle and
domperidone all in use. The mum has large nipples and is using the extra
large flanges on the Lactina. Personally I like the Symphony ...but dont
want to be biased and waste money suggesting things that are useless.
Does anyone think its worth swapping to a Symphony pump? We don't have
Ameda pumps here in Ireland. Are they any better?
At present the baby is doing well on mums breastmilk and donor EBM but
the mum is very anxious to increase her supply.
She had a significant blood loss at birth and had 5 units of blood and 2
units of plasma so I know she may never get full milk production ( is that
right?) She is having an ultrasound this week to outrule retained
placental fragments and prolactin levels also.
Hopefully will try putting the baby to the breast this week .
Any suggestions or opinions welcomed :)
