I recently checked this out myself and discovered the "code watch" on the ibfan site. In 2004 the UK based Avent was 'awarded' second place for biggest code violator amongst bottle\teat companies. Besides that there were at least 5 examples of Avent's non -code compliant aggressive marketing campaign in various counties. The code watch people were most upset by Avent comparing their feeding system to breastfeeding. Isn't a company non WHO code compliant the moment they advertise to the general public? Here in Israel there are billboards advertising Avent bottles. Now a question, it is my understanding that according to the IBCLC code of ethics we are not to accept any free samples from non WHO code compliant companies, which means no freebies from Avent. Please correct me if I'm wrong since I would love a free new Isis pump.
Thank you for your time,
Chayn Fogelman - who can't stand seeing the word "Naturally" on a bottle.
