hi,
i have shown this video a lot of times, in both my lamaze classes and when i
lectured to nursing students. i even showed it when i gave a lecture to
pediatric residents. i have never had a negative response to it. i think it is a
valuable tool.

<<<<<<Hi, everyone

I teach newborn care classes at a local hospital. I've been showing
Delivery Self_Attachment in it and the families HATE the video. They
are very critical of it, saying the sample size was too small, the
study is too old, the medications aren't current, what difference
does it make if the baby can't crawl up the breast, etc.

I preface the video by saying this is a great video that shows what
babies are capable of right after birth and the importance of skin to
skin. I also say that by showing this video I'm not advocating for
them to make specific choices for their births, but that they do need
to take both the mom and the baby into consideration when making
these choices. If they have concerns after the video, I answer their
questions with research-based info.

For those of you who show this video to patients, how do they react
to it? And do you have any suggestions of how I can make them see
this in a more positive light?
