Donna Ramsay's latest article on breast anatomy comments that while they see
many ducts leading towards the nipple and they may see multiple openings on
the nipple face, not all ducts or nipple pores are patent-- connecting all
the way through. In fact, one woman had only 4 patent openings through the
nipple. I remember as I was reading realizing that when we talk about breast
surgeries and biopsies, a cut into the breast and ductile tissue that may be
nothing for one woman could be devastating to another, depending upon how
many patent openings she has.
