I have been approached to initiate a lactation program at a local hospital, and am praying the job offer will actually come through. In the meantime, will those LC's who have been there and done that please pass on their most important hints? (I'm a non-RN IBCLC with a LLL background who's had a small private practice since passing the exam in 2002.)
I've spent a lot of time looking in the archives. What were the most important parts of your lactation program that you initiated from the beginning? Later on? Mistakes to avoid? Particular eggshells to tread lightly on? I'm concerned that the frustration level will be tremendous and assume that I will have to work very slowly toward change.
Thankyou very much!
