I just had to chime in and share that the Breastfeeding Coalition of Placer
County is also participating in this kind of training. I just completed the
three day (20 hour) training with 4th and 5th semester students at CSUS.
This time we had about 10 students. If you attended the ILCA conference
2005, you may have seen Jackie Kampp's poster session.

After the classroom time, which includes plenty of role play and researching
common bf problems, they spend 25 hours at our lactation clinic, observing
IBCLCs, answering the bf warm-line, and doing follow-up calls to mothers who
have come to the clinic.
