Hi:
1) Just name me one breast pump company that *doesn't* market bottles, whatever they may call them. I was looking at websites only this week, and the so-called "clean" companies all provided bottles among the parts available, as well as the kits.
2) The claim of an "anti-colic" bottle has cropped up for decades, with different nipples, different bottles, each time the respective company claiming that its different design is why *it* is "anti-colic". The Maw's (UK) "cherry-shaped", "anti-colic" teat of the 1950s and 1960s was promoted for a long time and was in common use. Others seem to come and go - they keep changing. Comparing the different designs over the years, the power of marketing is apparent! The advertisers have found a common concern of mothers ("unsettled" babies) and homed in on it. One thing we can learn from this, and from other advertising that plays on mothers' beliefs and fears, is to *listen* to mothers. Companies do it, to great effect.
I'm about to go "nomail". Any replies to me privately, please.
Cheers
Virginia
