I cannot access that article either, but I can guess that it probably has
some good information for all mothers contemplating breastfeeding. The
greatest percentage of mothers-to-be probably do NOT read MOTHERING
MAGAZINE. Is it possible to get some people interested in looking into
getting more of this type of information into the LAMAZE MAGAZINE and the
other parenting ones that are always readily available in stores, doctors
offices, and also are given out in prepared childbirth classes?
It would also appear that maybe the AAP is finally going to jump on the
bandwagon (in some ways) and promote breastfeeding more. If you go to the
AAP website (AAP.org) and then look on the left hand side of the main web
page, you will will an area entitled "Children's health topics."
Breastfeeding has a lot of info there. I have always pointed out this site
to my couples in breastfeeding class but will now add this in addition to
suggesting they read the AAP policy statement on breastfeeding and the use
of human milk (along with my other suggestions).
Who has a good list of the pregnancy magazines? That would be a start.I am
going to look at a copy of ours when I go in to teach this morning.
