Judith, the only person who should think about eating somewhere else is this
NICU doctor.
You stated that this was an RN who works there and she cannot use the
employee break room? Nursing her baby or just having her own lunch should not
matter nor should it require a policy. PLEASE!!! This is just getting out of
hand.
25 years ago I worked in L&D and I would head to the break room and slip the
pump kit under my scrubs. I used the big classic pump. No one saw anything
and I certainly wasn't bothered by people coming and going. I just was
happy to get relief. Once a med student came in and when he saw the machine and
the tube going up under my scrubs, he asked if I was having dialysis. I
said, sure. :-)
