Letters when done constuctively can be very powerful, espectially when
they are mailed to the CEO and Nurse Manger. Hospitals want good public
relations. I would suggest that this mom write a letter explaining what,
when and who said things to her.. I would also suggest asking to talk
directly to the Nurse Manger. Most hospitals in the US have protocals
and policies these days that deal with Breastfeeding. In my experience
when care concerns are brought to Nurse Managers people are spoken to. I
would guess (but do not know for sure) that there is an IBCLC on staff
that has raised issues, but when parents complain constructively
administrators listen..
