Elena Medo says she salutes and supports HMBANA bank.  I would recommend
that anyone who is curious about whether these claims match what she says on
her website follow this link and judge for yourself whether or not Ms.
Medo's comments about HMBANA banks are positive, accurate, or fair (and, as
you read, you might ask yourself if you can find any straightforward, clear
answers in the FAQ section of Prolacta's website):

Also, someone recently posted a link to a California newspaper article about
Prolacta and Two Maids.  In the article Two Maids was referred to as
for-profit.  The webpage I offer a link to above claims that Prolacta works
with non-profit milk banks, and Lara Hopkins points out that the National
Milk Banks are described as non-profit.  Anyone able to clear up the confusion?

Finally, Ms. Medo wants us to "rest assured" that her company elicits
informed consent from women who donate milk. I want to echo Susan Burger's
concerns and say that if Prolacta is conducting research with these
donations, then Prolacta needs regulation and oversight in its attempts to
elicit donations.  The "trust Prolacta to be its own ethical watchdog" line
isn't good enough.

Again, looking at the Prolacta website and Ms. Medo's most recent post,
there is a pattern of attempting to equate the cost-sharing that HMBANA asks
recipient families to do with "selling."  And then Ms. Medo claims that her
donors are adequately informed because they know she is "selling" milk to
hospitals.  

Ms. Medo continues to attempt to hide the hugely important difference
between non-profit milk banking and Prolacta's for-profit model.  Why?
