I ran across this article on AOL entitled From Parenting Magazine, 6 Things
Your Baby Would Tell You ... if only he could talk! The other 5 suggestions
were actually pretty good, but I was dismayed to see the following, which
assumes a bottle-feeding baby.
"I'm not always hungry when I cry"
It's been three hours since baby's eaten. You strap him into his high chair,
zoom a spoon of pureed peas toward his mouth and he clamps it shut like a
steel trap! What to do? Experts agree on one thing: If your baby's otherwise
healthy, and his actions suggest he's not hungry (he turns away from food, he
ate an hour ago and seemed full then), believe him. Feeding too much or
pushing a full baby to keep eating isn't good for him. If he cries when it's not
mealtime, figure out what could be bothering him before pulling out a bottle or
baby food.
