Wow!!! If the weight gain is real, this baby is in trouble! It could only
be if he is getting fluid overloaded which is possible due to all the fluid
he is drinking. Babies were meant to drink colostrum in the first 2-4 days
of life. It could not be because of constipation. At a bili of 20 at 48
hrs, this baby needs to be in a hospital under more than 1 bili light.
Where in the world are you? I'd suggest a new pediatician or a visit to a
Children's ER ASAP.
The urine may have been examined to rule out a UTI as sepsis can sometimes
cause jaundice.
