But why say that, Judith?
The only reason would be for the mother's own comfort, if she is
missing a feed. She only needs to express to comfort, anyway, and if
she does express more than this, she could choose not to dump
it....if she is really, really palatic * or even mortal* she will not
be able to get her act together to be expressing anyway, by hand or
by pump.
Pumping does not speed up the rate at which the alcohol leave the
milk, so it's a bit pointless (except for comfort - in which case you
would only need to do it once or twice, minimally, for comfort).
